Today’s Sunday Recipe I decided to do a deep dive into what I usually have in a smoothie.

I’ve been having morning smoothies for probably about a year now, off and on and honestly nothing beats a morning smoothie. They’re easy to make, you can add whatever you want in there and the best thing is you can make them as nutritious as possible.

So many people fall short of not getting enough vegetables into their diet, but with a simple morning smoothie that can completely change that.

Some of these ingredients were extras that I decided to throw in (such as celery and parsley) but everything else is what I usually consume on a daily basis for breakfast.

That way I make sure I’m never short of nutrients during the day and I’m getting the most amount of energy from the healthiest sources of food.


  • 4 cubes of ice
  • 2 stalks of kale
  • 1 stalk of celery
  • a handful of parsley
  • 1/2 an avocado
  • 1 floret of broccoli
  • 2 stalks of bok choy
  • 1 floret of cauliflower
  • 2 frozen spinach cubes
  • 1/2 beetroot
  • 1/4 cucumber
  • 1/4 zuchinni
  • 4tbsp of yoghurt
  • 150ml of milk
  • 1 scoop of protein powder
  • 1 tbsp of cocao powder
  • a pinch of black pepper
  • a pinch of sea salt
  • a pinch of cinnamon

Yes, that is a lot of ingredients and doesn’t look like it would taste good at all, but once you add ┬áthe cocoa powder and the protein powder it completely changes the taste. I also add a little bit more water if I want it watery or less water if I want it thicker.

Usually, after everything is blended up I will crush up 1 square of dark chocolate and throw in a handful of nuts just for some extra crunch.

This smoothie will keep you full all day and will give you everything you need.
